Our weekly meetings are held on Tuesdays at The Bridge Restaurant (formerly Limey's) on Route 7 in Sheffield, Ma. Dinner at 6:30 p.m. -- Meeting at 7:15

The Scholarship committee has selected the winners for the 2010-2011 year. The awards will be presented at an informal picnic at the Sheffield Town Park pavilion on Tuesday, June 8. The lucky recipients have already been notified of their grants by mail. Parents and all Kiwanians are invited to this event which begins at 6 p.m. Hot dogs, hamburgers, salads and desserts will be served. The total moneys allocated for these awards this season is $29,100.

The Little League season is in full swing at both the Great Barrington and Sheffield Park playing fields. This makes a busy schedule for the new Kiwanis Cafe (our refreshment trailer) since we cover all contests at the Sheffield venue. The Cafe is also booked for events such as the Senior Center Flea Market ant the new weekly market on the Chapel grounds across Route 7 from the GMC dealership.

On a disappointing note: the "Battle of the Bands" will NOT take place this season as previously announced. The "music shed" on the Berkshire School Campus has structural damage and cannot be used this summer

The Sheffield Kiwanis Golf Tournament occurs later this year -- on Friday, July 9, at the Egremont Country Club. Mailings have reached our regular sponsors and players.

Kiwanis will also be gearing up for the four weeks of the Berkshire Choral Festival on the Berkshire School Campus which opens on Sunday, July 11. OUr club hosts a complete cocktail bar for the singers every afternoon and evening. We also direct parking and serve refreshments at the Saturday night concerts -- this year to be held in the new sports facility.
