Serving the Children of the World

Our club is involved in a variety of projects that involve fundraising, community service, and assisting children locally and worldwide. Here are some of the projects in which we are currently involved:

Roadside Litter Patrol: Monthly April through October, members pick up litter and trash along both sides of a 2-mile stretch of Route 7 between Sheffield and Great Barrington.

Stuff A Bus: During April school vacation we park a school bus at Berkshire GMC on Rte. 7 at the Sheffield-Great Barrington town line and invite the community to drop off non-perishable food items, diapers and personal care & laundry products. At the end of the week everything is divided and delivered to Sheffield Food Pantry and People's Pantry in Great Barrington.

Dictionary Project: the Club annually purchases and distributes new dictionaries to all 3rd graders in the Southern Berkshire Regional School District.

Warm the Children: Through fundraisers and in partnership with the Berkshire Record, we are able to provide up to $80 of new winter clothing for local children in need.

Foster Family Appreciation Day: A joint project with the Lee and Pittsfield Kiwanis clubs, we provide bag lunches and wristband admissions to Jiminy Peak Mountain Adventure Park for Berkshire County foster children and their foster families.

Food Concession Trailer: Our trailer has a reputation for serving great-tasting hamburgers & hot dogs, soft drinks and snacks at local events. We man the trailer at local events as often as we can.
